My Xobdo Adventure
In the early spring of 2006, an M.Tech. student told me of XOBDO. I was quick to access it that very afternoon. I was delighted not only with the very adventurous concept of the first online Assamese /English dictionary but also at the idea that I could submit words and be included in the overall goal of attaining the thousands of words in the compilation.
I have been teaching literature for almost three decades, and all throughout these years my continuous wonder at the sound and meaning of words have been a source of constant joy. This probably is one of the main attractions for XOBDO. My academic commitments and assignments do not give me enough time to devote myself wholeheartedly to the compilation, yet at the end of the day, I do try to take some time off to visit the site. Congrats to you, Bikram and your team for initiating and preserving the lively essence and texture of words.

I am very proud of being a member of XOBDO and also of the team which work relentlessly towards the progress of XOBDO. I am very thankful to those members who are promoting the languages of the North East India to a cyber world and thus making them accessible to the rest of the world. Being an Editor of XOBDO, I would request the existing members and, also the people who are yet to join us, to please come forward and make this a complete database of all the languages of the North East.
